Head coach of the youth team of Uzbekistan U16, winner of the 1994 Asian Games
Azamat Abduraimov
Dear children! I want to wish you: no matter how your fate develops, no matter how your game develops, the main thing is that you have a champion character. Champion’s spirit – until 90 minutes have passed, you have not lost. This is the most important thing. In life and in football you must fight to the end, play to the end, do not keep your head down. Because you if play from the heart, show your desire, your skill in football, football will certainly repay you with kindness and reciprocity. I wish all the children happiness to play football and achieve success.
What motivates me? Love for football. Football is my life. I have been involved in football all my life. I used to play, now I work as a coach and I want to say that the pleasure when your students win, make a beautiful game and combinations is no less than when I played and scored goals.
Of course, I had role models. We grew up in Soviet football. For me, David Kipiani has always been the best example. He was a personality in football. And when I already played in the youth team of Moscow Spartak, for me Fedor Cherenkov was one of the best examples. And when you see how he trains, and then train and play together with your idol, it was happiness. You should have idols, you need to be equal to them, but it is also important that every footballer should be a personality and find his own way.
